Bhavan's Public School was established in1977 under an agreement between the BHEL and the Bhavan to serve the educational needs of the children of the BHEL and of the neighbourhood.
The inauguration was blessed by Sri SwamyRanganadhananda of Sri Ramakrishna Mutt on 18th July 1977. The school is affiliated to CBSE, Delhi.
Started functioning with classes from Kindergarten to VIII in 1977 with a moderate students strength 425, the Vidyalaya subsequently become a full-fledged Higher Secondary School with Class XII as the highest Class. The School provides instruction in Humanities, Sciences, Work Experience and Fine Arts. The First batch of Class X was sent for CBSE Exam in March, 1979 and XII in March 1981.Class XII was discontinued from the academic year 1998. About 500 students have successfully completed CBSE Class XII between 1981 and 1998 and 4488 students of Class X from the 1st batch in 1979 and including the recent batch in 2015.
The sprawling campus of the School is located in the BHELTownship in about 10 acres surrounded by beautiful green belt, with learner friendly ambience, conducive for teaching. The environment is distinctively serene in every respect with beautiful landscape scattered with enchanting trees.
The school building is with about 60 spacious and well ventilated classrooms and Computer & Science Labs, Art, Dance and Music rooms etc.,
Besides indoor shuttle badminton, the school has spacious playgrounds for Football, Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Throw ball, Kho-Kho and for all Athletic event.
As on the date the school strength stands at 2600 with 106 staff. The school has been constantly achieving 100% pass percentage in CBSE Class X Examination. All the Classrooms are equipped with E-learning environment.
